I know a guy selling a 28 spline 3.55 Posi 8" Ford, he only wants $300 for the thing. First of all, this should fit, as far as I know. Second, is that a good price?
If it is in good shape and is indeed a posi unit, its a good price. I'd try to find out what kind of posi it is. You can check for gear ratio and whether its posi before you buy but unless you can drive it, its hard to tell what kind of wear it has. Check the backlash. Should be less than .010 for a fairly new set up. Usually the more backlash, the more wear. Thats taking for granted that it was set up correctly in the first place.

He says this is a "limited slip unit that uses a Trac-Lok block and springs and heavy duty steel friction discs."
8" posi A very good buy, even if you have to rebuild the clutches. Good ratio and 8" is a strong unit.
If you decide you don't want it or want to make a little profit let me know I will cruise across the river for it.
