picked up the manual tranny today

    so i went to the junk yard today and got all the parts i need to do the automatic to standard swap. all for a $225 what a deal. it's a 4 in the floor all i need is a new clutch plate and a pilot bearring. then i will have a standard in my car. i can't wait.

    i'm really lucky i found a 4 on the floor because it originaly was a 3 on the tree and some time in the past they put in the 4 speed. i was extatic when i found it. oh ya it was a 72 with a 170 in it.

    There is a 3 speed with OD that was stuffed in a toploader case. Hope it aint one of those. If the casting on the side starts with E7, it is.

    FYI ... the 3 speed is technically a TopLoader as well .. I think it means the guts of the tranny are installed (loaded) from the top of the housing ...
