My dilemna is with the new engine the Holley 670 cfm Street Avenger carb is not big enough. I've got a loaner Holley HP4150 750 cfm carb on the setup now and it works great.
I know this is a shot in the dark, but does anyone have a 4150 they would be willing to trade or sell at a fair price.
It must be a double pumper with mechanical secondary 750 cfm and in decent shape.
The 670 I have to trade is in like brand new condition and is rated to 400 hp.
    Here's a pic

Rick, I'd look to ebay if I were you. Also I think either summit or jegs has carbs remanufactured by holley for quite a bit cheaper than new.
    Good luck.

Hey riporter, I thought your new engine was going to be about 400 hp so why wont the 670 work?

As I stated...the 670 is rated to 400 hp, even after changing to larger jets it would bog when the secondaries opened. After putting the 750 on there was no hesitation or bogging at all.
We had estimated 400 hp at the crank...obviously we underestimated.
I'm taking it the track tonite so I'll have a better idea what kinda power it's producing.

OldGuy just bought a 700 Double pumper and is getting it lined out as we speak. Don't know if he wants to sell it or not, though.

Ray thanks for the tip...I found one possibility on E-bay...this is gonna set me back a few bucks if I have to buy it new...jegs or summitt have no remans in this model carb.

Man what a disapointment :( I was really looking forward to hearing what happened at the track. I Know what you mean about wanting to get some track time .I still have to do some stuff to my car so that it will pass tech ...Plus I have to buy a helmet.....Plus I really want a car trailer to take it to the track with, so IF it breaks I won`t be stranded 40 miles from home at the track. A buddy of mine broke his car and the towing bill was $140.00 to get the car back home!

It's a funny thing Mike...your probably like me, you'll drive the car everywhere but when you go to the track...you got to have the trailer. I'll drive to the track but the truck and trailer are always following.
as far as tech goes..I really need to get a driveshaft loop under the car, Id feel much better and I'm sure the car is gonna draw some attention from the safety people now.

riporter, i thought you might be looking for a bigger carb when you posted about your new engine. i too went up to the holley 750 hp. i love it. i'm running 74's in the front and 79's in the back. think they come 73 square. if your buddy's towing bill was only $140 he was lucky. i go 42 miles to one track and 85 to the other. a flatbed trailer comes in pretty handy. you'll find friends you never knew you had. i just got a 28' enclosed, but i'm still gonna keep my flatbed. look around, every once in a while one comes up for a decent price. good luck.:)

I`m going to sell an old truck I have pretty soon, and use the money to buy a car trailer...then over the winter I plan to get my car legal for the tech guys...buy a helmet ,and next year I`ll be at the track and a few more distant shows than before.
