OK- it has only been about 3 months since I promised some pictures of the "72 Maverick I bought in Kentucky and drove home to Wisconsin (about 900 miles). The trip was a great way to "bond" with my new car. I had a ball [IMG]

Car is a standard 200 I6 automatic with 53,000 miles. it is about as rust free as they get. Original DSO was West Virginia. I'm the 3rd owner. I wanted to get these pictures before I started the "tear down" for restoration. Enjoy! [IMG]

Still some more: Interior is very good with new carpet and seats. Trunk shots show what a low rust car it is. Floor pans are as solid too!

You know what you get when you start out with a car as nice as that? Once restored a really really nice car and at a fraction of the cost of a rusty one. You are lucky to have found such a nice example. Nice pics. What color are you going to paint it?

Thanks Dan - I looked at about 10 cars before buying this one. Scary part was - I did find it on the Internet so only had the sellers pictures and phone conversations to go by when agreeing to buy it. That was a first for me! There were a few things that were worse then I expected and some things that were better. All in all I was happy! And like my son said, "Any 32 year old car you can drive home in from Kentucky without a problem, has to be worth $1500 Bucks!"

I'm limited on body colors, as it will have to match a dark brown and black interior. I'm leaning towards a Matt Kenseth type yellow. Along with all the blacked out Grabber stuff, it would look nice! :D

Very nice...good solid car to start with, I like the color choice also, and quite a bargain as Dennis stated.

Congrats, that looks like a great car to start with. JMO opinion but I would keep it the original factory color.
