what power was. I have to share this story.
As most of you know I've got the "new" engine in and I've been running it on the street a little to get it broken in and waiting on the new carb before taking it to the strip to see exactly how much power it has.
The highway in front of my shop is a 55 zone and brand new asphalt, I took it out for a spin this afternoon and on my way back from the store the road is clear and I'm thinkin...I wonder what would happen if I dropped it in to second and punched it.
At 55 I'm turning 2500 rpm's in third, I drop it in to second and shower down on it and by the time i get my head back in a forward position I'm at 90 mph and 6600 rpm's and having to shift into third ( cam floats at around 6800). Now I knew the car had power, I could tell just by throttle response, but it just earned a whole lot of respect from me.
I think I've finally got what I want in a cruiser.
I hope to have it at the track Sunday night and I have butterflies already.:)

Don I'd say I have shown some restraint, that new asphalt is begging for a burnout:D ...I have a water hose that will reach from the shop to the highway.

Can't wait to see your timeslip Rick. Judging from your new combo looks like I might be getting bumped down another notch on the list in the timeslip database.
