It should all work. Make sure and get the metal dash.

    Tim,
I think there are differences in the compressor and mounting brackets
between that 6 and your 302.

If its a factory ac and your think of converting yours, its alot of work. Been there, done that. Factory or reproduction parts are not available such as the condensor/dryer assembly. Other things that go bad are the vacuum switch, evaporator, and the air boxes them selves. As they age, they get brittle. If you do go the factory route, have the evaporator tested befor you install it and slap a new heater core in there as well. I think I would go with an aftermarket system unless you want the factory look. Either way go with the sandon compressor. Have all new hoses made. And as Seth said, you still need all the brackets and pullies.

Classic Auto Air sales just about everything you might need for your factor A/C system. Fortunatly for us the 71-73 mustang has an identicle A/C box as the maverick. The 67-70 boxes are the same on the outside but the evaporator core is different.

I picked up a 77 box for the new car for under $100 for everything (vents and stuff) so I missed the $900-$1200 sticker shock of the aftermarket system.

Does anyone know if the 71-73 Cougar uses the same as the 71-73 Mustang?
