I have mentioned a few times a car that was owned by a guy I attended high school with. He was a senior when I was a sophomore. His car was the first Comet GT I ever noticed. My dream car was a '65-'66 fastback Mustang, but we never could find one that was affordable that didn't need a total rebuild. So, I ended up with the red Comet GT that I still own. Attached is the Comet that this guy owned. It is still around, sans the original silver stripes that were present when he owned it. He wrecked it, racing, in 1984 and after that traded it for a Jeep or Bronco. It has been around the area here among many different owners, including another buddy of mine. I tried to buy it in 2000, 2 owners ago. The interior is mint, auto in the floor. I don't know what happened to the original shifter, it has a hurst quarterstick now, as it is set up for 1/8 mile. The car had a 9 in. 3.91 posi in h/s. The owner I negotiated with, had really let the car go. I drove it, it was still strong, but it has a non-roller '87 stock engine with headers, 4V etc. But was not the same running motor from the mid 80's. I might own it one day, you never know. Seth
