I was doing a search for coil over shocks, and ran into a thread with this pic in it. I was wondering what size rear wheel/tire combo you are running, and whether youre tubbed/mini-tubbed. That is the axact look I am going for and Im wondering if I will have to mod anything to get it. :smash:

    Thanks, in advance,

    AC

EDIT: Oh, and does the tire ever try to rub on that fender lip? I assume the lip is rolled...?

I think he's running 275/60r15 on that car. Same as me.
Haven't heard from him in a while.

Thanks Ray. I just found this thread too(not sure why I didnt just do this search to begin with :D )

    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=4834&page=1&pp=20&highlight=tire

I still dont know if he ever sorted out the rubbing issue, or what he meant by "narrower" rear end...First he said everything was stock, then he mentioned a "narrower" rear end. I dunno...

Scotty, if you see this please chime in. I want to squeeze that same tire size under my Mav :D

Oh, BTW Ray, do yours stay under the car, inside the fender lips? Could you post some pics of yours? Thanks again.

    AC-
I don't have any really good pictures, But I they do stay inside the wheelwells just barely. I sort of knocked in the sharp edge on the outside of the federwell.
The best combo I've had so far is an 8" wide wheel with 3 3/4" backspacing. That's what I have my drag radials on.
What I usually run is a set of Cragars, 8" wide with 4 1/4" backspacing. Clearance on the inside is basically non-existent. I trimmed the axle snubbers and beat the inside of the wheelwell a bit. They work okay, but I'll definately be getting new wheels at some point and they'll have 3 3/4" backspace.
    Hope this helps.
By the way, my axle is stock.

Cool deal. I think I may try to get an 8 1/2 under there like Scotty, but we'll see. FWIW, I dug up some pics of your ride, and those wheels and tires do look like they fit pretty good. Thanks.

Stock.. Sorry I am here! Been busy lately with something other than the MAV! BUT, I see you found my info anyways! Thanks Courier.. The rear is less than 1" shorter. Out of a early rancero I think. But yes, mostly stock. I did roll the lip and add 4 leafs. It did rub with body roll before the new leafs but not now. Stiff as a brick bacj there..Scotty P

    Thanks,

Ok, maybe I wont go with 8 1/2" wide after all. I cant find them in any wheel styles that I want :( I guess 15x8 is my only choice. This is unfortunate indeed.

    AC

EDIT: I wonder if 15x9s would go :D I guess I need to find somebody with the size rim and tire I want, and borrow them to test fit.

15X9 with that same tire will go? Or did you run a different size tire on the 9" rims? Still inside the fenders?

    Thanks pal,

    AC
