    wheel backspacing

I found some wheels for sale 2 14x7's and 2 14x8's. Backspace on the 7's is 3.25 and the 8's are 3.75. I know the 8's will fit out back fine, but what about the 7's up front? Will I need a spacer to clear disc brakes?

Should be okay, but then I don't have disc brakes.

According to Coker's websight, the wheels I have on the front of mine have 4 1/4" backspacing on a 15x7 wheel. I didnt realize they were that offset. They clear my disc just fine.

It does depend on the shape of the inside of the wheel, but it should be ok. I have 14x7's with 4 1/4" backspacing that fit fine. I had a pair of 14x6's with about 3 1/2" backspacing that would not clear however. Same basic design but the inner part of the rim was shaped differently.

Another thing you need to check is the hub diameter. Most aftermarket wheels are big enough to go over the disc brake hub. But, if you look at factory type wheels manufactured before 74, the hubs are usually too small.

Hey I just realized, I could have used those wheels if I'd have taken the calipers off. Or maybe switched to drums. :slap: :D
