export brace

    I've saw a add in the back of my Mustang & Ford magazine of a Shock Tower Brace which uses tube and ilet type fittings and I know TCP makes some to but what I would like to know is which one would work on my maverick? I've seen theme for mustang, falcon, couger up to '73 is how the add reads. thanks

    im in the process of making my own. i didnt know they made them for the maverick

    The mustang units can be used but have to be shortened.

    shortened in what way? just simply hack off a little bit with a hacksaw?

    As I understand, the ends are threaded with both right and left hand threads. You have to cut them off and rethread to make them work.

    i use the shock tower braces from mpg but i dont have the export brace. the shock tower braces were for an early mustang. i had to cut approx. 3/4" from each end. the regular thread was threaded all the way through so that was no problem. the other side was a left hand thread and did not go all the way through so i went to the local nut and bolt place and bought a left handed tap (about $10). the part that bolted to the firewall had 4 bolt holes. 2 matched up perfectly and i drilled out the 2 others. works great, just pull the pins and lift them out of the way to remove the valve covers. they were about $150. :)
