I've saw a add in the back of my Mustang & Ford magazine of a Shock Tower Brace which uses tube and ilet type fittings and I know TCP makes some to but what I would like to know is which one would work on my maverick? I've seen theme for mustang, falcon, couger up to '73 is how the add reads. thanks
As I understand, the ends are threaded with both right and left hand threads. You have to cut them off and rethread to make them work.
i use the shock tower braces from mpg but i dont have the export brace. the shock tower braces were for an early mustang. i had to cut approx. 3/4" from each end. the regular thread was threaded all the way through so that was no problem. the other side was a left hand thread and did not go all the way through so i went to the local nut and bolt place and bought a left handed tap (about $10). the part that bolted to the firewall had 4 bolt holes. 2 matched up perfectly and i drilled out the 2 others. works great, just pull the pins and lift them out of the way to remove the valve covers. they were about $150.
