I need a new turn signal cam, but for some reason, cannot seem to find one that works with my car. Mine has a metal plate that "firms it up" so there is no flex, but when I buy a new one (HELP brand, and one from AutoKrafters) it will not work right and does not have the metal backing. It will try to go into turn, but will not click and stay, or will go in but not unclick out when I make my turn.

Is there a way I can make the plastic ones work? If not, does someone want to sell me one that does have the metal backing and both cam clickers still attached?

The one i have with the one broken cam (in picture) works fine one direction, but will not work the other, since the cam is broken off. So I know it is the cam, and not any other part of the signal system that is not working.

Yep, mine won't "stick it to the right" either. Left works fine...

My '74 Grabber has the same metal one like that. Unfortunately it is broke the same exact way yours is, I used to just hold the turn signal on by hand when I made right turns. Got pretty used to holding it on, was like second nature after a while. I still catch myself doing it in my '72 from time to time even though it works fine in both directions in that car. :)

I think my '76 might accidentally have a good one though. I'll check it out this weekend and let you know if you haven't already found one by then.

Maybe could do the rivets, but that sounds like a lot of work...

Jamie, you said a while back that you had plenty of these at your junk yards...you mind sending me 3 or 4 of them next time you go out there? I will pay for the parts, shipping, and for your work, as long as the yard doesn't charge you $20 a piece for them. PM me if you are willing to do this (not sure how far these are from you, my salvage yard is 150 miles away!!!)

They have to have the metal backing, though....and both cams!

Scott, those cars were crushed months ago. Cars are lucky to last a couple of months in the yards around here. There is currently a '74 4 door in the Pull-A-Part about 15 minutes from my house. I will go tomarrow and check it out. If it is in good condition I will sell it to you for the price I pay for it plus shipping. It will probably cost about $5, the yards around here don't rip you off and overcharge for stuff like yards I've heard of in other parts of the country.

I would be happy to pay whatever your costs are, plus shipping, and I will throw a couple extra bucks at you for the work and gas.

    Thanks for looking for me.
