I see where you might say that, but there is one big telltale that it never was...the hood trim. All the trim on a Stallion is blacked out with the only exceptions of the door handles and bumpers. Look carefully at the one pix of the front view of the car. The trim is chrome. Repaint the car, I can see that. Mine was repainted before I restored it. Change all the trim? I sincerely doubt it.

    I bet it is!!!

The car on e-bay is the same car from traderonline.com.
And I can see someone changing the trim on the front because after a little fender bender I bet completely blacked out trim was rather difficult to come up with in the local junkyard, that is if it was wrecked. And it would not have needed to have been wrecked for someone to change the trim. Mine was pitted but in good shape and I replaced it.

I think it might be one of those elusive Stallions...

I still think the car is a Stallion. The trim on the front edge of the hood has been replaced. The tailights are still blackout. I bet if you popped open the trunk the underside of the decklid will still be satin black. Interior is identical to mine, the doorjambs appear to be satin black.

Isnt all that blacked out trim just regular trim that has been painted flat black? If so, a little laquer thinner and 0000 steel wool and you could polish it right out.

Maverick Stallions didn't come with the "Stallion" wheel. It was available only on the Mustangs. Why doesn't someone e-mail the seller and ask for the door jam paint codes. If the stickers are still under the hood( as he says they are) then the ones on the jam should be there too. It is quite possable it's a Stallion. I too beleave the hood molding could have been changed. The seller says it has a "dinged" front bumper, so it's possable that the hood trim got "dinged" as well. Either way it still a nice looking car. A little too left coast for me though. Russ

We have a orgn. 76 Stallion the interior looks the same. Russ said
that Maverick Stallions did not come with the Stallion steering
wheel but ours has the Stallion wheel I thought that the wheel
was part of the package. Ours also has the factory 8 track fm radio.

I have seen Wilbur's car,,(Welcome Wilbur) and never noticed a different wheel than mine. Wilbur's Stallion is all original, and it does bring up the question, did any Stallions built have a Stallion steering wheel? Could it have been replaced? Wonder why it would have been replaced when the rest of the car is bone stock appearing? This could very well prove, that they might have been a few built with a Stallion wheel.

I never have looked at his steering, either. I know it's one fine looking, original car!

[Could be like those Maverick Marauder steering wheels. They apparently made very few of them].
