I got home at around 10pm. My flight from Louisville to Detroit was delayed and so was the flight from Detroit to Montreal due to the high winds in Detroit. Then I had to wait a while for the luggage to be unloaded from the plane as there were 3 planes using the same luggage carousel.
Mavaholic 2006-07-31, 06:09 I made it home just before midnight. Blew another trailer tire on the way home. Nick & I caravan up until the last hour, Thanks buddy for the company!!

Yeah Seth, is your dad gonna keep in touch with his new "friend" Peg (leg)? :bananaman
Grabber5.0 2006-07-31, 17:00 We got home about 10:30 last night, and I was totally drained and pretty much went straight to bed. No 'too wound up' for me... I was getting really sleepy by the time we got home, I could not have made it more than another hour or so. Being the first time pulling a car on a trailer, it made the trip seem pretty long.

Doodlebug has his hands full with her.
Good seeing you again, Frank. We need to find a show somewhere between
me and you and meet in the middle. Columbia, SC?
Seth
Got home about 8:40 OH time. We would have gotten home sooner, but we had to help Mark Sunquist. He had car problems and I had to give him some Bulhead's parts(Sorry Frank:whew: ). We were just lucky enough to be at the same rest stop he was. Got to help another Mav nut like me.
We all had a great time and were glad to get some sleep. It was nice meeting you newbies. Hope to see you back next year.:drive:
Rudy
Rick Book 2006-07-31, 18:53 Susie and I made it back today (Monday) at 4:30 p.m. without any MORE
incidents. ;) The trip was a blast for both of us.
Owensboro was nice, but "there's no place like HOME!"
Finally, it was great to meet all you guys and your significant others! I'm sorry
we didn't get to meet you guys who couldn't make it. If you can, start
planning now for your trip to next year's Roundup - you won't regret it.
:2thumbs:
hotrod-daddy 2006-07-31, 22:57 I made it home safely...no problems. I left Owensboro at approx. noon on Sunday .......Pulled into Rock Springs at 7 pm Monday. I really had a great time and it was a pleasure meeting everyone. All ready I am looking forward to next years Round Up
Mavaholic 2006-08-01, 04:25 So Tim, What was the final mileage count? Great to meet ya!!!
don graham 2006-08-01, 09:20 well, if tim's home, i guess i'm the last one. got in about 11:45 pm last night. left at 8:45 am sunday. drove til about midnight. slept 4 1/2 hrs and drove a couple more then pulled off and slept 2 more, them drove straight through home. drove 3674 miles and i haven't figure the final fuel bill yet. but i'm sure it's in the 4 figure range. i really don't want to see what the final bill is for the whole week. but i guarantee it was worth it. the only bad time i had there was leaving. everyone i met was really great and the cars were beautiful. to see so many good looking mavericks in one place was awesome. i can't wait til next year. thanks to everyone for all the hospitality.

don graham 2006-08-01, 19:56 what's really true love is her not yelling when i told her the gas bill was $1117.59 plus $42 for tolls. her reply was oh well the plane and car cost almost as much. but it was definitely worth it.
cost of gas $1117.57
cost of air fare and car $1000.00

I finally made it home last night from the Roundup. **
Just wanted to check in and say what a fantastic time I had in Owensboro with a great bunch of people!
Got the truck unloaded last night, but did not get the car off the trailer. I'm anxious to see why I had only 7 out of 8 sparks coming out of my distributor!
**We took the long way home via Wisconsin. I went to see my mom and sister in Madison, Wisconsin. Then we hit all casinos and antique stores on the the way home! :D (2953 total miles round trip)
don graham 2006-08-06, 09:43 well, i guess it's now offical. everyones home. great to finally get to meet you and your wife at the roundup. looking forward to next year already.
Rick Book 2006-08-06, 10:13 You have the record for taking the longest time to get back!
We'd about given up on you. I guess I need to start hauling everything back to your house that I pilfered. ;)
'Glad your'e back home safely.
glad you and Lauralea made it home safely!
don graham 2006-08-06, 23:29 rick, don't bring it back. doug probably dosen't have any room if he and lauralea stopped at all the antique shops along the way. :D
hotrod-daddy 2006-08-08, 11:47 Howdy Doug, Glad you made it home safely....Lets us know what you find with 7 cylinder
My 7 cylinder Maverick, by the way, is 8 again. All I had to do was put the old distributor cap back on! There was a crack on the aluminum in the knobby where the #1 wire was plugged in. I don't suppose I could get my money back on the cap even though it only had 100 miles on it at the most. Being an installed electrical part, I bet not!

sounds like a "bad dist. cap" was good news... ...frank...:bouncy:
Rick Book 2006-08-08, 21:50 'Glad to hear it was nothing serious!
don graham 2006-08-08, 21:52 glad that's all it was.:yup:
rayzorsharp 2006-08-09, 00:42 I was just looking thru my pictures. I forgot to tell you guys about this. I came out Monday morning after I got home from round-up and this is the 1st thing I saw. :( My car was still on the trailer so I was happy that I didn't pull forward another 20 feet. Getting pretty close to the Sprint too. Just another one of the after effects of Katrina. I knew the limb was dead but I had forgotten about it.
Oh well...I know where there's a good body shop. :D
Mavaholic 2006-08-09, 04:23 Damn, will it ever end?
don graham 2006-08-09, 08:09 tooooo close.:(
maverick1970 2006-08-09, 10:52 Way to close!
rayzorsharp 2006-08-09, 12:11 Yep...and it still did $1400 worth of damage to my truck but I'd rather it be the truck instead of the car anytime.
maverick1970 2006-08-09, 12:20 Actually it is your company's truck! :D
rayzorsharp 2006-08-09, 12:28 That's the good thing, but I still have to fix it...or have it fixed. Our company insurance has $1000 deductible so I'm not even gonna make a claim. I'm sure I'll be able to work it out so that it doesn't cost me much of anything out of my pocket. That's the other good thing...being boss. :D
maverick1970 2006-08-09, 12:30 Filler work!
Rick Book 2006-08-09, 12:39 Wow, Ray. 'Sorry to see that but I too am glad that it didn't touch your Maverick!
