how to tell if it is an LDO

how do I tell if my new 1973 Maverick 4dr is an LDO. It has bucket seats and is a cream colored interior

 

Wide side trim, big cushy buckets, wood grain on dash, shag carpet and map lights ...

 

them I got an LDO does that make it any more valuable

 

An LDO is a catch 22 .... I like the buckets ... but hate the side trim. And replacement carpet is not available in shag ... so personally I don't think its worth more ... but other may disagree ....


However .... a 4-door aint worth much either way ...

 

Like the buckets and side trim. Replace the factory hub-caps with Keystone Classics, and your all set.

 

They should be equal with a 2-door. Even tho the market does not share that opinion.

 

Not all LDOs came with map lights. Both of the 73 LDOs I've had had just the normal interior light. Maybe it started in 74, I don't know. Maybe it was just an option?? I too like the buckets and interior, but the trim was the first thing to go on mine. Oh yeah, LDOs had vinyl tops as well.

MY dad told me his 73 LDO had regular carpet no shag(and he had the car from factory)...unfortunately he gave it away and i only have this exterior pic.

I didn't even notice the map lights in dmhines's post. Corbin is correct the 73's did not have them, our 73 LDO does not.

 

I had a 74 Comet LDO ... don't recall it having a vinyl top though ...


Here is the domelight ... one of the many for sale on eBay ... I think Ford used it in just about every vehicle from the mid 70's to the mid 90's ...
