I put a 5.0 in my Maverick, and I need to get a hose for the upper radiator tank. Here is my dilema: The Maverick hose is too short to go over the 5.0 alternator bracket and reach the radiator. The Mustang 5.0 hose is way too long and the radiator sits lower in the Mustang, so the hose is molded too far down for the Maverick. Besides doing flex hose (ugly in my opinion) what are my other options? Who has done this and gotten a pre formed hose that works? Please let me know. Thanks a lot.

I can't help with a part number for the molded hose but if all else fails how about using a braided stainless steel hose or braided hose cover for the flex hose.

I have used this method with some success in the past; form a wire coat hanger into the shape you need, then take your pattern to the parts store and ask them to see if they have anything that comes close to matching. Make sure you give them the inside diameter you need.

The braided idea is a good one, but it would look a little wierd because all the other hoses are regular. It is a possibility though. The clothes hanger is a good idea, but we spent about 45 minutes looking over lots and lots of hoses, but couldn't find any. Thanks guys.

There are kits that are just the stainless braided covers that slid over your existing hoses complete with ends that finish off the the installation nicely. I have seen these kits installed and they look like the real thing. You can get all sizes and do your complete engine. The kits are available from Pep boys and other discount auto stores.

Thanks. I emailed Windsor Fox a few minutes ago, so I will see what they say. The braided is an option, but I am trying to keep the black if I can. I will let you guys know when I do something. Thanks again.
