just wondering if anyones put a "flowmaster" type muffler on a 200 engine? and u dont have to tell me its not gonna sound like a v8, i know... i just wanna know cause im planning on getting a new exhaust system and trying to decide if i should put another glasspack on or change to a different muffler...

yep my uncle..best ford inline6 i've ever heard, sounds like a v8 at idle

PS flowmaster 40 delta flow, the kind with 3" inlet and 2 2 1/2 outlets.

Not sure if it is a V6 vs I6 thing or not, but I had glasspacks on my straight 6 280ZX and it sounded really nice at idle and accelleration. Not really loud, just aggressive sounding.

I think the V6 mustangs sound a little wimpy with loud pipes on them, but maybe the straight 6s sound better:huh:

Give it a try with a glasspack. you can get one used, or just pay the $20 for a new one. I bet it sounds good on your car.

I have Flowmaster super44s coming in tomorrow and will just snap them on a temporary setup on my open headers and try to post a soundbite (I know, a little off topic, but thought I would throw that out as the 44s are pretty new and I cannot find any sound clips of them...)

i do have a thrush glasspack on my car right now and it does sound pretty good... but i need a whole new exhaust, so im trying to decide if i should put another glasspack on or try something different... and if anyone puts a glasspack on a V6 they should be shot because they sound really ricey, high pitched...

I didn't want to say that, but I agree, the V6s I have heard with attempts to put "big" mufflers on sound ricey.

I don't know if it is the way they put the muffler at the very end of the system and basically just dump them after, what. I know that most of the glasspacks I have had a good 2-3' more tubing afterwards to mellow out the noise.

My wife has an 05 V6 mustang and wants an aggressive tone, not volume, but tone. We are still waiting to find someone with the right sound and ask them what they are using, but have not found the anything that sounds right yet...
