I am considering using the side scoop from a "69-'70 Shelby convertible on my Shelby Mav phantom. Trouble is, if I order a set of these scoops and they don't fit, I'm stuck with them. I was wondering if any of you Mav owners have a '69-'70 'Stang too. If so, could you please give me a report on how similar in size and shape the area of the Mustang dogleg, where these scoops are located, compares to the flat part of the Mav dogleg, under the character line? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. John B.
I have a set of the 69 side scoops I cut out of a junk car just for the purpose of seeing if they could be adapted to the maverick. After putting them up against the Maverick I didn't see any way they could possibly work. The Mustang has a smooth kick out from front to back along with the bow from top to bottom. Its kinda a double compound curve near the top of the scoop. The Maverick is virtually flat with a slight bow from top to bottom.
Mavaholic; Are we talking about the same scoops here? The ones I'm talking about are fiberglass, and bolt on to the car, just in front of the wheel opening (they are the ones used on the '69-'70 Shelby convertible cars, and are different than the fastbacks which have a different style scoop mounted up higher on the fender). Sincerely; John B
