Hey all,

I know it's been a while since I have had an update on the Fresh Cherries line and now, with the issue of the 1:24 scale Mavs' and Comets. I knew that Walmart over-ordered the Pintos' and Gremlins' and the guy I talk to at MotorMax agrees.
So... The following e-mail was receivied just today...
(I'll let you all know if and when I hear back from them on how to order and just what to expect in each case as well as cost.)

Yes, you're right, it is going to be very hard to find the Maverick and Comet in the Wal-Mart Stores although it is released. As most of the Wal-Mart Stores had over ordered on the Pintos and Gremlin release, so it will take some time for them to clean out, and their re-orders will include the Maverick/Comets.

I can of course help you guys to get some of these shipped. I think last time you guys placed your orders to Yu at Die Cast online. I have copied Yu on this email to hook you guys up.

I'm in for case of each or so.... I'd be willing to front a couple of cases of each and resell at cost plus shipping indiv pieces as I know everyone doesn't want or cant afford a case... let me know private email...

I wouldn't mind a couple...one in each color offered, and 2 yellow ones so I can give it a paint job to match my car.

I have made an initial order for 8 - units 4 maverick and 4 comets in each color tonght @$10 each. Will keep you posted.

Let's hope for the best - I would be in for 1 of each color Maverick if they become available.

This looks like a good way to go... I did not realize that they were already available and in sets of Mavs' or Comets only in all colors no less. The price seems quite fair as well. I'm still going to wait and see what Yu at Diecast online offers for a group purchase but I have a feeling it won't be much better than this...

Wow. I wished I would have read this thread before the one with links to ebay. Could have saved some bucks. Oh well, at least I wont spend $20 in fuel making trips to all the Walmarts.

Thank you for posting these links. I just bought a set each as well. I was just at Walmart this morning wondering when I might get some. It is much easier just to buy the whole set.

Yeah, the local Wal-Mart here has had the same 3 Fresh Cherries (Pintos & Gremlins) for at least the last 6 months.

Buying them at that site makes things a lot easier.

I noticed the same thing....

we bought up all the mavericks and no one wants the gremlins, vegas, pintos, etc. so now there stuck and won't reorder.:(

I got two of the Mavericks in yesterday. I think maybe they used Pinto floorpans in them. Did you notice the emergency brake handle between the seats? :huh:

my fresh cherries mav came all apart, interior and everything.. just had to glue the grill, bumper, and windows back in.. no problem...

well i build alot of plastic models on the side and im alot more used to them. the FC kits dont even compare tothe stuff ravell and some of the other companies put out.

i was also thinking of cutting one up and piecing it over one of the many transformer toys on the shelves ;)
