Something interesting here that I found out recently. all of my previous Mavericks were setup that the trunk key (round end key) was also the door lock key, I have since found out that not all mavericks were keyed that way, as I have talked to a couple people since I got my current Maverick and the door key is mated with the ignition key and not the trunk key, I have had a couple people tell me that they have seen Mavericks keyed both ways, some with the door key is the same as the trunk key and some the door key is the same as the ignition key. I never knew they were done both ways until recently.

That's an existential question...maybe we should ask a (maverick) guru???

I bet there was a reason at the time.... But My best guess was that on my first three Maverick's the door/trunk key was seperate so that you could unlock the Trunk with the engine running if you needed to?? or ifn' you were a smart cookie you could keep the two keys seperate in case you locked the ignition key in the car accidentally....

Or if you use valet parking, you could lock valuables in the trunk and keep that key with you.

I have NEVER seen a Maverick that the trunk key also unlocked the doors.
