Anyone have any good recommendations on desktop dyno programs? If you know where to download it for free, that would help too :).

I would check on Kazaa if you have it. If you don't have it you can download it for free, and then get Desktop Dyno for free off there.

    STOP!

Don't download the FULL Kazaa just yet.

I recommend you download Kazaa "Lite "

The full virgin has all the spyware and pop-ups.

All that stuff has been removed in Kazaa Lite
(google search for "download Kazaa lite")

Corbin, which virgin are you running and are
    you sasified with it?

    .

I agree Rick, Kazaa lite is the way to go. Kazaa has so much crap and is so slow I avoid it all costs.

Yesterday I did a search for desktop dyno and came up with a program called dyno2000. So I downloaded it and it seems ok, but I don't have any of the extra cam files or anything like that. They also have a newer version called dyno2003 that's supposed to be a lot better but I couldn't find that one on kazaa. Anyone have any cam files or ideas on how to get the newer version?

I have the full version of Kazaa which sucks as you guys have said. I have been meaning to erase the program and go with Kazaa lite, but I haven't thought about it much. The popups are extreamly annoying.

    Corbin,

As you are probably aware there are certain things you have to
    do to *entirely* remove Kazaa.

After (or both before and after) uninstalling Kazaa, download and run "Spybot Search and Destroy" (freeware) found at
    http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10122137.html?part=104443&subj=dlpage&tag=button

It'll rid your pc of the spyware left behind (on purpose) by Kazaa
and any other programs that have infiltrated your system without
    you knowing it.

One thing a lot of folk don't realize, is that even opening a picture
file (say from someone@yahoo.com) can put spyware on your PC.
I turn the "view picture" option off in my yahoo account for that
    reason.

Personally, I don't care who sees what on my pc. I allow most all
cookies, however, if something slows my puter down, then I have
    a MAJOR problem.

Also (while we're on the subject, I use a firewall, Kerio Personal
    Firewall, free at http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/14/3/14-3-5.shtml .

Just one more ting heah, (Columbo) I use AVG anti-virus software
(freeware - notice a trend here? :D ) found at
    http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_downl.htm#FREE (scroll down
the page to click on the free edition).

I'm tired now and am going to rest after all this typing. It's kinda
    like *WORK*!

    Good night and Good luck,

    Rick

Hey, thanks Rick! All this stuff will be great. I am going to erase Kazaa now. Thanks for the other links, I'll try those too.

That is incorrect, spyware will not be installed by simply viewing
an e-mail, even if you only preview it. However, you should always turn the preview feature off as spammers can validate your e-mail when you preview the picture. The picture will load off the spammers webserver and each picture has a unique name and this is how they track who opened their e-mails. Then they send you more spam. I get tons of the crap everyday, including e-mail viruses and worms.
