Got the rat issue partially under control, spraying him with wasp killer tends to flush him out, but I don't think it will kill him, just tick him off. I want to put moth balls in panty hose and drape it down into the fenders. In panty hose so I can pull it out before I drive and pull the smell in through my air conditioning intakes. I just want to make sure that mothballs don't melt into a corrosive material...as they are, chemically speaking, a "salt"
Be better if you put a few in the gas tank.................... :evilsmile That was an old trick "back in the day" The old ones were chock full of Benzene or something. Put em in a diesel and you had blue flames out the pipes at night...........
Napthalene...I thought they exploded when put in gas... Will they dissolve when they get wet and if so, will the resulting solvent eat my paint or metal?
Not sure on this,,,I use to deliver at a place in the Mon Valley that made them an it does seem highly corrosive. Did you ever smell moth balls???
Yup, just did again as I place 4 pantyhoses of them in the engine compartment. I will remove them and rinse it all out before driving... It is the lesser of two evils...leave the rat and he will eventually chew through all my wires and firewall seals, or put mothballs in there and rinse it out and hope he goes away...
Moth balls are safe for fabric so I dont think they are corrosive, but:they arent meant to get wet, sooo it could be a problem in your situation. If you tuck them up where they dont catch water you should be fine.Yeah I know the cowl is a water trough.
Just for the record, since so many are so concerned...if you get the critters high enough, they don't care WHAT you do with their legs
