Now I feel like a complete idiot, ran some test from the chilton manual since my comet dies all the time when I give it some gas, so I have to keep it running in like 40-50 km/h, when I was losening the bolt between the fuel pump and the line that goes to the carb I accidently "made it go round" so now I can´t move it in either way, and the gas is spraying all over the place, did what I could with some tejp and gasket tejp... Well I ruled out the gas pump as the problem, but made a new one instead... I can´t get that bolt of, any tips? My carb is also missing pieces, the whole back of it is missing, and there is no electrics going to it, it´s one of those old 1 BBL motorcraft carbs... Cheers all you out there!!!
Are you saying you rounded the nut that tightens the fuel line to the pump? If so, a pair of vise grips usually will get a grip to tighten or remove it. Do you have a picture of the carb?
I wish I had but I really had to take it to the shop, I broke down and felt defeated, but he was a nice guy, so hopefully he can help me and learn me a thing or two, I really want to do most of it myself!!!
