Disk Brakes question,,

    1973 comet 302,29000 miles auto air, 2009 shelby kr ( last red one built , 2500 miles)
    :hmmm:I currently have Front disk brakes on my 77,,not power though,,I am parting out a 74 comet gt,,with power drum brakes,,I bought a new booster and Brake cyl,,My question is ,,,other than the booster and access hole being difffert are the propotion and lines locations the same? I am changing the pedal assy and figured the i will be drilling a new hole but is that it?

    ive only ever heard that you just needed to drill that one extra hole in the fire wall and it should all go together. eventually one day the boster is comming off my comet for my mav. i would think since the master cylinder is moved foward so much because of the booster between the fire wall and it that the lines too would have to be extended to meet it but maybe theres enough play in them to make them work.

    I just did the opposite of what you're doing. You have to be nuts to do this job. Reason I converted mine to manual was it was damn near impossible to get to the spark plugs and wires on that side of the 302. If you've got a six banger, that's a different story. The firewall brace is also unique to the power setup. I reused the power distribution block and rerouted the lines to the master cylinder. rebent one and had to use a new one and bend it to fit on the other.
