ok so i bent my rear axle shaft and i'm going to replace it, i looked on the currie enterprises site and they have a package that replaces the bearings (apparently a 4 lug rear has a diff bearing...not sure exactly) but they give you new axle bearings, so wouldn't this solve the problem...or am i missing something. if it solves it...looks like i have a 5 lug rear now...if not...back to 4 lug...or could they make one to 4 lug specs with a 5 lug bolt pattern...hmmm, i think i'm on to something :hmmm:

5 lug axles and 4 lug housings do not mate.

You could measure the ID of the 5 lug axle bearings and OD of the 4 lug bearings...
Then order a set of axle bearings to mate them.
I have never heard of anyone doing it, but they make bearings in endless OD/ID variations. I bet they have a bearing for it.
Then you have to worry about the brakes.
Will the 4 lug backing plates that bolt to the housing accept a 5 lug drum?
