Do you know where there is a step by step guide to rebuild a c4 tranny? I have all the time in the world during the summer.

    Anybody?

    C4 Rebuild

Several of the local parts stores, AZone etc. used to carry a good book with step by step instructions on C3-C4-C5-C6 and the AOD trannys. You may look at your local library too, ours had a lot of shop manuals on these and you could copy them page by page for free. The video's are good but the books are easy to use for referance while attempting each step of teardown and rebuild. Also consider the tools yu will need to do the job properly ie. snap ring pliers, dial indicator, outside micrometer etc. They are pretty easy to do once you get into them, a bit messy while tearing down and cleaning but great satisfaction to be had when installed and the car moves and shifts with precision.

PS. Rick-- Ran the Mont in Fast Ford bracket race, got runner up with a crappy .614 litte in 102 air temp and greasy track. Dialed a 9.61 and ran a 9.605. Had two "red" in regular brackets. .499 and .494. Got to cautious, thusly the .614
