just finished bidding on a sfi rated flexplate for a 157 tooth. it's by hughes and they said it was bolted to the engine then they changed to a powerglide. never been started. it sells for $196 in the summit catalog. i got it for $75.
Originally, the V-8's had the 5 lug setup . . . didn't matter if it was Grabber or not. The 6 cyl equipped cars came with the 4 lug setup. My 72' has a 250, and it has the four lug, and my 74' has 200, and it has the 5 lug setup. Then later, maybe 73' . . . I know by 74' for sure all Mavericks/Comets had the 5 lug setup.
my 72 grabber had a 250 in it and it has 5 lug and from what i have seen all the 72 grabbers with the 250 or 302 had 5 lug
most be a 200 6 cyl car to come with the 4 lug all the 250 grabbers in 72 had all the same stuff shocks and all as the 302 cars less the v8 brace
The side stripes look like the 70 Grabber stripes (no Grabber name). It looks like they put on the wrong ones when they had it painted. According to the vin, it's a 250.....
. Grabbers with fog lights (71 and newer I think) don't have grill emblems. Mine is a 71 and it has a grill emblem, but it isn't a grabber.
I believe the bigger brakes (5 lug) were part of the heavy duty suspension package, which was offered starting in 71. This would explain why some 6 bangers had them. Then in 76 disc barakes became standard so all were 5 lug from then on. I wonder if the color is off on his camera because those almost look like Sprint seats.
. Man that's a sweet color combo, very nice. Too bad the rest of the car is garbage and that the quality of the bodywork is unknown.
