    Bought a 76 mav. awhile back off e-bay pretty bad shape came without any keys pulled the steering wheel today to get cly. out Chilton book says to push a small wire in a small hole to release it couldn't find one in this never did get it out. will i maybe have drop the steering colume and take the switch out that way to try and get key a made Chilton shows pictures doing that this is also a factory 3 speed on floor. Would like to see if it runs before Ohio winter sets in. Any ideas or help.

    You have to have a key in order to get the cylinder out of the column. Best thing to is to take the lock out of the door to a locksmith and have a key made. That is....as long as the lock in the door matches the cylinder in the column. :)

    I bought a car without keys once. Pulled the door lock, took it to a locksmith and had a key made for $10.

    Talked to a locksmith had the door lock out and with me he didn't think it would work off the door lock because the cly. has more notchs in them than the door lock but it might be worth a try.
