I thought you guys might be interested in this. I emailed Currie Enterprises to ask them if the Explorer rear disc brake kit that they sold would fit the Versailles differential (parts would be lighter, cheaper and more easily available for a long time to come than the stock Versailles calipers and rotors). The following is the answer that I got; “Unfortunately the Explorer kit will not fit. The Explorer kit will only fit 2.500" brake space offset axles, and the Versailles axles are a 2.463 offset - close - but the kit really will not work properly. The 2.500" offset axles are only available aftermarket. The kit I could supply you with that would work great on this rearend would be the 2000 model Mustang Cobra rear disc kit that we have that features 11 5/8" vented rotors, factory Mustang calipers, and Currie made bracketry. This kit runs 499.95. Thanks.” Any comments on this option? I was wondering what the E-brake setup was like on these Cobra brakes and if it would be easy enough to hook up on the Mav. I also wondered whether these brakes would be compatible with the Granada brakes I planned to use on the front. Anyone know if there is a kit available to put these Cobra’s front brakes to use on vintage Fords too? Finally, would anyone know if using these brakes in the back would require using a different master cylinder than the Versailles one I was going to use with the original Versailles calipers? Thanks in advance for your comments or advice. John B.
