where are the id #s on a 302

    I tore down the 302 I got with a comet. I looked but couldn't find any #s on the block. It has flat top pistons with valve reliefs. It had E5 heads so I figure there crap. I know its a flat tappet. I am just trying to figure out what I bought

    They're back on the bottom near the starter.

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Casting number for block is located on right side of engine above oil pan rail at rear side of engine.Cyl head #s' are on the underside of the head on the intake runners(between the pushrod holes)

    really I though E5 and e6 were crap and e7 were good. I sure hope your right
