I read, I think on a posting here, that something like 35,347 Grabbers were produced in 1972. So when I read my VIN, showing I don't have a clue about Vin #s, the last 6 digits tell me the car number out of production for that year? For Example my digits show the last 6 as: 136713. The first 1 is always the number that starts the series, correct? So that means . . . I need some help here figuring this out and getting it straight. Is the amount produced wrong?
When someone out there has a chance to educate me.
Thanks everyone. BTW, getting closer to having the Grabber's bodywork completed, then its on to paint!!

your car was the 136713th car to come off of the production line for that assembly plant, for that year model. it's just an individual car number, and doesnt have anything to do with what the car "is".

Actually, it was the 36,713'th car. When the number reached 199,999, the first number would flip to a 2, and so on. I have a '73 2 door that the VIN ends with 316890, and another '73 that the VIN ends in 100945. Both from St. Thomas.

So, no matter if it was a Maverick, or a Maverick Grabber is what you are saying, correct?
And then is the 35K number correct for the # of Grabbers produced in 72?

yes , thats right, that is the same amount of crown victorias built in 55 which was my first car,the grabber was my daughters first car so I used to tell her it was just as rare as my crown, used to see crowns on the road in the 70s and 80s but not much anymore, grabbers are following the same path
