Vacuum advance unit swap question

    I'm looking for a single vacuum advance distributor for my 351W. I found one that has the dual vacuum advance/retard system. It seems like it shouldn't be a problem, but can I just simply swap the dual port vacuum advance diaphragm unit for a single port unit?

    71 grabber red and black; 74 2dr LDO comet
    the grabber originally had one of those on its dizzy, i replaced it with the single diaphragm and it worked ok.....
