help jacking lower control arm

    what is the correct way to jack up the lower control arm? I have a floor jack and a bottle jack. I don't want to damage the new suspension I just installed. Trying to put spring clamps on while the springs are still installed. Finding it tricky.

    can I jack on the bottom of the ball joint or will that be a bad idea?

    so the spring will compress before I bend or squish the metal surrounding the ball joint? just trying to be sure.. brand new arms and I'm not much of an odd-place jacker.

    i find that putting a piece of wood between the floor jack and joint will help keep it from slipping.

    It will not compress the spring....all it will do is lift the car off the ground.
