I got this one off ebay years ago,,, works pretty good. 42 bucks free shipping, cheapest I found. I thought Harbor Freight sold them. couldn't find them listed there. Summit has them,, Sum-G1051 ,, Must've had a price increase, on search an Oct 09 catalog shows$64.95 when clicked on it shows 82.95.

Had one one time built from a grocery buggy. They cut the buggy off, left the bottom rack. Didn't have any way to fasten the motor to it, it just kinda sat on the bottom rack and balanced against what was left of the uprights. Worked decent. Don't know what ever happened to that thing.....

I built one for a big a$$ helicopter engine one time. That one on ebay looks like a great deal.

The cheap tool vendor at the drag racing and swap meet events sells them for $30. BTW...the BBC cradle can be made to fit a FE engine if you slot a few holes.

I've read on other forums, that those low priced ones from from e-Bay, Northern Tool, etc., made for the SBF, are really for SBC and they had to modifiy them to work with the SBF. They also complained of the flimsy build. What has been your experience?

I need three of this engine cradles. I have the materials to make 'em and that is why I asked if anyone had the dimensions or plans.

Quality aint bad, rolls OK on garage floor, wouldn't want to roll over rough or big cracks. For the money. I think they are worth it. Mine bolted up with no mods or enlarging holes, been sometime ago. I think I had to bolt to engine then tighten all the cradle bolts.

If you want to fab easiest way would be to have your engine in air, start from motor mounts and build from there.

A guy I knew bought from Summit and built his,,, then returned it,,, just a thought. Mines buried and not sure how to measure what you want. if you wanna come up. I'll get it out!!! bring a snow shovel

Wow, $60, that's a good price, it's almost not worth building your own.
I'd measure mine, but it's been snowing all day....

I found one on e-Bay for $42 with free shipping. However, in my current circumstances, I have more time available than disposable cash. There is enough materials, including casters, at my dad's shop to build 4 or 5 of these things. I will get with someone that has a 302 or 351 out of the car and take measurements from there. Terry; I have a 302 on a stand, if that will help. Tell me what measurements you need, and I can mail them to you.

the last one I made had a rectangular base, 4 casters, then had a set of tabs for mounting the arms to bolted to the bolt, the way I made it it would fit anything,... last I saw it it was still bolted to the scj block I sold to robert and on its way to misery :D

My dad reminded me that a 302 is sitting outside his shop. This is going to be my weekend inside project. After I make a couple for the SBF, I think I'll get a little goofy and make an adjustable one to accommodate 302, 390, 460, and make one for 250.
