Well I am installing new upper and lower control arms and spring perches. I also bought new springs. My question is will my ride height be outta wack. Car had a 250 with a/c. Car now has a 351w. I ordered springs based on the 250. I am assuming that the 351 weight will make it settle to a decent ride height. Am I correct? Thanks

You may find yourself cutting a coil. AC 250 springs are the same as V8 springs.I have 6cyl 200 coils in my Sprint with a 351 and it sits just right.Granted the springs are not new but, it sits nice just the same...Good luck!!!

I thought that the 351 weighed about 200 pounds more than the 250. I just dont want the front pointing to much north. Raised a tad wont really bother me cause I assume they will settle in time. 2 or 3 inches is to much of a height gain 1 inch I could deal with.

Might be about 85-95 lbs difference between the 250 and 351. Loose the cast iron intake and exhaust to aluminum intake and tube headers the weight will be about the same. The 6 cyl sits on top of the front axle whereas the V8 has its weight shifted to the rear a little bit more taking some weight toward the rear axle. It takes new coil spring a good month to settle. Don't be surprised if you end up cutting a coil off to get the look that your looking for...but wait a month or two before you start cutting with a cut-off wheel or sawzall, don't use heat.

There is only about 75 pounds difference between the 302 and the 351W. If you use aluminum heads and intake you save just about that much weight.
