I have a diagram showing what I have in my car that I drew up. My moroso switch shows what I have to do in order to incorporate the alternator into the switch. I'm still unable to figure out exactly what I gotta do to make it work . . .

The Moroso circuit will work as long as your IGN feed comes from the TO STARTER SOLENOID circuit (which it normally is).

Your drawing is not like the Moroso circuit. Your switch will only isolate the starter(solenoid?).

all power is SUPPOSE to come off the switched side post. If you do that, when shut off the alt will keep engine running. You can (not track legal) wire alt direct to battery. Trouble there, you still have a hot wire running to front of car an some alt. will drain batt if hot all the time. 4 post switch is really nice for that reason! They do make a kit to add on to shut alt off. I.m on the road an hard topost with old files, but if you goggle you`ll find different ways of making it work. Good Luck

heres what you do. put the moroso switch in the red wire that goes from the bat + to the solinoid. then you take the red wire that is going from the alt to the soilnoid and take it off the solinoid and move it to the bat + post.

now sence i know how we wired your car that is not as easy as typing it out makes it sound. we either need to run another heavy gage wire from the bat to the alt. or switch to the newer style starter and run a 10 gage wire from the solinoid to the starter. the new starter way is more expensive but easyer. the new starter also has higher cranking power wich will be beter for your new motor. or you can do it the run another big gage wire (6 gage or biger) through your car from the alternator to the battery. it would be cheaper but harder to do sence we are running out of room for big cables in your car.

ok so I think I'd rather just run an extra wire for now and hold off on the starter. so would it look like this?

yes sir that will work! I would use 8 gauge-6 is better for the wire from alt. to battery

that will work. so you need to get 20 ft of 6 gage or biger wire. and you will need to get a lug of some type that you can join the wires that are currently hooked up to the lug on the alt. the new method will only have the new cable going to the lug on the alt. all the rest will goto the new lug.
