Sounds like you need a better pcv system.

The only thing that can push your dipstick out like that is crankcase pressure. With good rings and a good PCV system there should be a partial vacuum in the crankcase or at least no pressure. Don't worry about the stick popping out - that is just a symptom - fix the problem and the stick will stay put.

Start with an engine leak down test.
That will tell you if you have a problem in the engine.
You might as well change the pcv valve - there is no way to test them so just replace it. Check the hose to make sure it is clear, and the passage through the carb or intake manifold too.

If I am seeing correctly in your picture you dont have a pcv valve at all, is this correct?

:D Do what I did, run a PCV system and use one of those tiny bungee cords to hold the dipstick down.:thumbs2: Yea, I've got a little blow-by, but it's not bad enough to rebuild the engine to fix it. 6 years old and still runs hard.(y)

You could get a cap that has a pcv valve in it and run a hose to intake below base of carb, should have another breather on other valve cover as well so it can pull air through engine, it would be a good idea to also vent that cap to bottom of air cleaner so you have a good source of vacuum at low rpm and a good source at at higher rpms, because the pcv valve doesnt do a lot of good at high rpm because manifold vacumm drops to a very low stage.

There are many ways to do it and I am sure PaulS will have something to say as he usually does, bottom line though is you need somekind of source to pull pressure out of crankcase.

I run a header crankcase evac system which consists of a oneway valve in each exhaust pipe and a breather cap with a hose going to each valve cover. Has enough vacuum at idle that it will suck breather to your hand, havent got a gauge to tell how much at full throttle but it is sufficient. Pretty simple and cheap, in the olden days they used a draft tube and this works on the same principal
