maverick locking gas cap

    i bought a locking gas cap on e-bay. maverick clearly printed over the lock. looks A1 new. seller says its a dealer only item. can anyone tell me from what year? or any other info? thanx.

    They were a factory option (Appearance Protection Group), or you could buy them from the Ford dealer. Started in 73, or 74. They show them in the 74 sales brochure (I can't find my 73 copy)
