View Full Version : Dog dish hubcaps on 15" Crown Vic steel wheels
b_ryce70Mav 2010-06-28, 22:45 Which ones fit? I'd like to go with the old stock ones like this-

I'm not sure if they'll fit though, as those were all intended for 14" wheels to the best of my knowledge. The wheels I have are plain jane 15" steel wheels from a Crown Vic. The center "ring" where the hubcap would mount measures 10 3/8" across (aprox) and 11" across the two "nubs" on the ring where the cap would lock in. If I can't run those, which ones can I run? I've been searching ebay motors and various forums and thus far have only added to the confusion.
b_ryce70Mav 2010-06-28, 23:05 Looks like the Maverick/Torino/etc ones above are 10 1/8" inside diameter. Bummer. The search continues.
baddad457 2010-07-03, 04:50 Just run a set of the Vic hubcaps. Running them bare, painted black with chrome lug nuts looks sharp too.
Bum's_Steer 2010-07-04, 21:18 Do a search for "Crown Victoria Police" in the wheels section of ebay, then look for the applicable year range for your 15's. They'll usually specify what diameter rim they fit
Most the dog-dish or poverty center caps were used on police cars. It might help narrow down the search.
I've been wanting to try a set of my 16" Interceptor wheels/tires and caps on my Mav to see how they look/fit

They look pretty good on my Vics

b_ryce70Mav 2010-07-09, 19:04 I've been all over ebay, and I can't find the right ones. Tons of the ones you posted, but not the ones I need. I did get a part number from a crown vic website though. Think I'm gonna go dig through the junkyard hubcap bin tomorrow.

Just a thought.....you might or might not like their look/style, but the caps pictured on my Vics, they attach to the special lug nuts. not the wheel. So, if the center dish on your 15's is big enough, you could get a set of the "shouldered" lug nuts and use them.
The caps measure 7" across

Yep thats my Mav 10 1/8th is the diameter. Tough to find in anything over 14" My rears are 15's but are made from a 14" center and a GM 15" outer rim.
spork1o1 2010-07-10, 23:39 my 72 LTD has standard steel wheels with the same style caps as the blue mav.
b_ryce70Mav 2010-07-11, 10:46 Well, I snagged a set of Mag wheels from a swap meet yesterday, so I'm now set with much better looking temporary wheels. Thanks for the help anyways guys.
i read somewhere that you can use the dog dish hub caps (pictured on blue mav above) on 14" and 15" steel wheels.
simple man 2010-09-01, 07:32 You could try the plain jane ones from an older F150. They look very similar to what you want.
Derek 5oComet 2010-09-01, 23:11 Old F150 10 1/8 across nubs too.The Ceown vic ones are pretty specific.
These are the caps that fit the Crown vic wheels

sgaugeguy 2010-09-12, 21:44 I just bought a set of these for the 15" Crown Vic wheels I currently have on mine. These will be my winter wheels and tires so the Magnum 500's chrome stays nice. I will post a pic of them mounted when they show up this week.
