Saw a complete Granada disk brake setup on Craigslist for $300. I was going to go look at them tomorrow, but decided to think about things for a while. I cancelled the trip.

My suspension and (power) steering are original and will have to be rebuilt at some point. So, on the one hand I have used disk brake components for $300 and future expense for replacement steering and suspension parts vs about $1800 for all new rack & pinion steering, dropped spindles, 11" disks, all new suspension, and NO shock towers. Gotta do the math but the kit sure sounds appealing.:hmmm:

The Mustang II conversion is a good deal if you're going to stick a big engine in your car. If you are sticking to a Windsor, you might be better off just upgrading to the Granada stuff and you'll wind up with 11 inch discs. (y)

Thanks. Didn't know the Granada disk size.

Gotta do the math. Stroked roller 351 with AOD is in the dream stage. If total cost of Granada disks and rebuilt stock (power) steering and suspension gets close to the cost of the M II kit I'd have to think about it.

Comments and opinions are welcome. :yup:

Also the kit will end up costing more. You have to factor in how much the welding is going to cost. Even if you do it yourself the shielding gas and wire adds up. But if i had the money i would go with the RC kit, it is made for mavericks. Its not universal like most of the M2 kits.

For me priority one is getting power rack & pinion. Only way to get it is a RRS system or One of the M ll kits. Either way your looking at least $2k. The fact you get rid of the shock towers is a bonus and secondary, especially since I will be running a 302 in the GT. I think the M ll is the way to go. Thats why I bought one.

Is this a recent purchase and what brand did you get?
