The good: fired it up, sounds awesome

The bad: after start up I noticed a chocolate milk colored drop come from the oil pressure line going to the block. Checked the oil and I have water in it.

The ugly: Havent found it yet

I think it might be an intake leak. I used edelbrock intake gaskets with the black film a d didn't use rtv on the around the water ports. The counter guy told me not to use it with these gaskets. So I think that's where my leak is.

I always Permatex #2 the intake water passages...it can't hurt. Also use Permatex on the water pump bolts that pass through the water jacket.

I do the same but this time I didn't. I've got my fingers crossed that's where the water came from. The motor wasn't on long enough to get that hot

are you using wire locked head gaskets with oringed heads?
i put a motor togther once where the o rings were not cut deep enough in the heads. they compressed the o rings in head gaskets but didnt seal the oil and coolant passages. instant choclate milk. chances are it is your intake gaskets.

Gotta mill the intake when milling heads more than a few thousandths to keep all mating surfaces in the same plane...Could be cause of leak...

Not neccessarily. Each intake fit is unique. I milled my Canfields .060 for the first build I had them on. I had to mill the Vic Jr I used in that build. But when I used these heads on my 331, no milling was needed with the 3x2 intake to fit. I did have to wallow the intake bolt holes to match the head holes, but other than that, nothing was done to match the mating surfaces. I went thru the same thing in a 400M build too. Milled the block .010, and the heads .040, but no milling was needed to fit the Weiand 8020 to the engine.

On Tuesday I took one of the heads off looked good. Put the head back on, intake and rest engine stuff back on. So today I fire it up took it up to running temp and checked the oil. So far no water in the oil.
