"Sometimes" (not always) the turn signal flasher does not stop flashing after I've made a turn. What in the steering column do I need to check on?

    Thanks...

What exactly do you mean? Does the turn signal arm re-set after a turn and the flashers still flash? Or is it that the arm does not re-set after the turn?

It doesn't "click" and re-set, and the flasher keeps going until I manually turn it off. The weird thing is, it doesn't "always" do this, but recently it's been happening more and more....

I've always just replaced the entire turn signal unit. Not sure how much trouble it will be putting a new cam on it. Seems like they are riveted together. I'm sure that's going to be your problem too though.

    Ray,

AutoZone part number 49304 (see pics), is this the entire unit as you're referring to? How difficult is this to change?

That's not the entire unit but it looks like that small keeper might be all you need. The complete assy would include the wiring harness and all. I think I'd take a chance on the cam. Would be a lot easier to put in if that keeper is all that's holding it in. If I think about it I'll pull one from the box and check it out when I get home. I have an NOS complete assy still in the box. Complete assy looks like this.

I replaced just the plastic cam and it isn't hard but wasn't worth it because it just doesn't seat as well as the factory. So I ended up replaced the whole unit as pictured above and that's not hard at all! That's the write-up you see.

Thanks for the links, pictures are always helpful! Mine is not that bad, so maybe I'll hold off, then finally buy the complete assembly....
