Mavericks are lower than most cars on the road so it sounds like your hanging out with lowriders :D Im gonna go with two inch drop spindles from fatman fab, dont even have to touch the springs ;)

You also need the Spring compressor tool, But yes the first gen mustang springs are a direct swap. And ideally you`ll want to replace the spring pads, if you havent already.

New ones. Too much of a hassle to do over. I have Moog 8306 which are 6cyl, 8cyl w/o AC. I just recall what the rate for them. They may sit a little high for those looking for a raked look. I did not cut any coils. The springs I replaced were not that old; they had coils removed and I was unsatisfied w/ the ride.
I do not believe in cutting coils it changes the design characteristics of the spring. I wud just get different spring or drop spindles. I was concerened more abt ride quality - I am very satisfied w/ ride and handling of the 8306's for my intentions for the car >>>
    Highway and Cruising.
BTW - I wud also replace the pads and seats. Might as well since we had them out.

If chip foose cuts springs its good enough for me! But its always better to buy springs with higher spring rates if your going to cut them.
