So I just got a 1976 Maverick, not just as a project car, but to learn about cars in general. I eventually want to use it as a daily driver so I'll leave it as a 250 inline six. I paid $550 and after a new battery, transmission fluid, and some gas got it running:thumbsup: I know there are some immediate things I need to fix: the breaks feel weak, the gauge lights and passenger headlight aren't working, water gets into the door when it rains, the trim around the doors, and a few rust spots. Eventually fix up the interior, fix some dents, a rear bumper piece, paint, and hopefully a grabber hood with scoops. I noticed it had A/C from the factory but believe parts of it were taken out, two vents look like they don't even have any ducts behind them. If anyone has suggestions for the above problems or can recommend other problems to check for let me know.

The car had been listed about a month before I called about it. Lady felt bad that it wasn't running and that she had ripped the headliner when I went to look at it. Then I listed the things that would have to be done to the engine and she came down from the asking price. I did have to promise not to use it for parts, which I had no problem doing.

I paid $500 for my car from a old ladies family. Im second owner and car was soild. Only thing I had to do was get breaks fixed and replace a few little things. 60000 miles on the car Zero rust.

Looks to be a soild car congrats on the amazing find! Post pictures of what you need our make a list and people here will help you out.

Take the rear bottom seat out and see if there is a build sheet. Always nice to find what was original.

Found mine with a receipt from 1971 from a store I live behind now.
