Does anyone have good pics of a Granada console with auto floor shifter in it? The Maverick shifter bezel is too wide to fit in the shifter opening, and I'm not sure if I can make it work. I may need to find a Granada shifter... The car I got the console out of had a 3 spd overdrive tranny in it (which is for sale by the way if anyone wants one, I can get in touch with the owner)

Go down to my "Console in a Maverick/Comet...you bet!" I have posted several pictures of the Granada console installed. You do have to get a smaller floor shifter. Stock one won't work.

I don't know why I didn't just reply to your thread... :) Can you post a shot that shows the shifter better? Preferably from the top.

Here's a picture looking down on the shifter. I used the shifter out of the Granada (easier). Had to make a plate to cover the big hole from old shifter & make a plate to hold the small shifter. Everything from the big shifter interchanges with the small one (underneath where you can't see). Hope this helps.....

Good luck! Post a picture when it's finished. I want to see the outcome. I think it really sets off the interior. I get lots of comments on mine, especially with the gauges mounted in front of the shifter.;)

I know it's only been a year, but I finally got around to messing with getting my shifter to work with my console. Wanted to get the fit right before I cut the shifter hole in the Grabber, which is where it will end up. When I converted the 77 to floor shift, I initially put the shifter a bit too far forward to work with the opening in the console. Tonight I moved the shifter back a couple inches and it fits great. There's even enough clearance to open the glove box most of the way. Have to cut a plate to cover the base of the shifter and install the trim ring, but it's gonna work just fine.

Yep...looks just like mine. Except I took out the idiot lites. Filled in that hole with a plastic plate & put my gauges there. Makes it look so much better. Good job! I ike it...

You can use a Mustang shifter, and it is a lot smaller. I use a '67 Mustang shifter, and it fits real well with the Granada console. I will get pics tomorrow, and put them in this thread.
