Bart Maverick 1976

"Bart Maverick", his brother was Bret, started life in Illinois as grandma's car 6 cylinder automatic. When grandma passed he went to grandson who put a 302 roller, T-5 and 9 inch ford in it with frame connectors. Next he went to Mississippi and the owner did a few changes and body work with Shinny Penny Pearl paint with Gold Rush Stripes from Summit. Next owner let the car go down bad and when I got him last year you could hardly stand to sit in it from the stench of mildew and rotting dirty carpet and rat mess, but it had a scat 347 stroker with Comp roller cam, Edelbrock alum. heads and intake, so I bought him. I went through it mechanically, new tires and brakes with lines. New Champion Radiator with shroud to cool him, pitched the MSD full mechanical Distributor in favor of the MSD with vacuum advance, new valve covers and so many small things. This year I change the window gaskets all around and new headliner, carpet from ACC, door panels from Distinctive Industries and seat covers from my friend Lynn. Door panels are ginger corinthian and the seats tan with ginger inserts.

All in all a blast to drive and from the comments everyone owned a Maverick or knew someone that did.
