By chance I got rid of my '70 Galaxie for a '74 Pinto Wagon... The Pinto was OK around town but was horrid on trips, realized what a mistake I made the first time we took it to the wife's parents approx 140 mi away(never went any farther with it)... We suffered with it for a little over a year, then I bought a '75 Granada...

You know I almost traded in my 78 Monte Carlo for a Granada. The Granada, although not a collectable car, was a nice car and I liked it. The Monte Carlo was what I traded in my 74 Mustang II Ghia for and that was a mistake, that Monte Carlo was the worse piece of crap I ever bought and people are restoring them now LOL

Now, you're absolutely right on the Pinto, sux on the highway. It's not comfortable either driving it. But it gets a heck of a lot of attention on the road.

Mechanically the full frame GM A/G bodies were superior to to Ford's unibodies, problem was the interiors fell to pieces in four or five years... I owned several when I was pulling a hitch with the General, always liked the feel better than the similar size Fords... When I switched back to Ford, we went to full size again for something similarly comfortable...

(bet that stirs up a hornets nest LOL)

Let the Pinto go unless it is a "Crusing" model. The one with the port hole and all the stripes from '76 and '77

I am a lover of the '69 and '70 Galaxie, especially the XL. I had a '69 it was a sharp car.

Can't you keep one of the cars somewhere else like a storage garage? A friends house maybe.

Ford's full-frame cars were superior to their uni-body cars too.
It's the construction, not the brand.

I noticed 30 years ago that GM interiors fall apart more quickly than Fords.
Most of them are "rattle-traps" too. Although GMs typically always ran really good, Ford's just seemed to have "quality" about them that GMs lacked. In fact, they still seem more solid (to me) than GMs, unless it's a high-end model GM.

Chryslers of the '60s, '70s, & '80s also felt "cheap" compared Fords, and this is an unbiased opinion (or perception) because I like Chryslers & GMs too. I'm not brand-loyal. I just like cool cars.

Man, that's a hard decision to make. You think your landlord wants to meet Hoffa? I know people that know people.

But if that's not an option , no brainer , the pinto.

I'm probably going to paint the Pinto and sell it off. If I can have 4 cars, I think I want my 4th car to a a nice old Ford truck with a shortbox. But honestly, the Pinto isn't cutting it for me any more. So it's gonna be the Pinto :)

The build is on the Pinto forums. 2 builds actually, one is from the person I got it from on the forums and the 2nd is mine. He did the mechanicals and even changed the driveshaft to an aluminium one, rebuilt the upper, redid all the lines. The build he did was pretty cool and he found it in pretty bad shape. Then I got it and finished the mechanicals like some oil leaks and so on. Then the body is ready to be shot now, placed air shocks so the car would be level and also blacked out the windows from the rear windows back. It's Pinto registered ride number 195. But all pictures of both builds are on there. I replaced the door panels with ginger panels also.

These are the pics outside, it got new carpet inside, but a black headliner. The back seat is great, but the front seats need to be done. I'll post the pics when I have them ready. Car is pretty good :)

I don't know what to see it for. Like someone said, I should paint it first and then sell it more than likely so the "vultures" don't come at me. The landlady is working with me also now and seems to understand my problem right now LOL I don't know what I'm going to charge for it once the paint and interior is finished (I may not finish the interior though - only the front seats need completed).

Had to put grenades on the wheels of course LOL And halos on the lights! Those might go on the Maverick if I do have to sell the Pinto...

I may sell it on the Pinto forums since the car has been there since the beginning or may just ebay it. Not certain yet.

The Maverick build is all on these forums of course :) The Mustang on the Mustang forums and it's just started taking the paint off and the car is pretty straight and the engine just back from the machine shop while the Gaxalie on Misfits. The Galaxie just had the whole interior completed and some engine work done. That's a driver :-D

The Mustang engine is just coming back from the machine shop.
Ordered new rack and pinion for the Mustang and all the parts for the front-end. It's a definite 1978 King Cobra (only 4,600 built). It's being stripped down to metal now. The Interior is near perfect really and the stuff that wasn't, I got those parts also. The Maverick engine and trans are all rebuilt and so is under it (build stuff is on here). The Galaxie has almost 72,000 miles and runs pretty darn good, have to get the oil leaks fixed, it sat a LONGGGGG time - replaced a lot of wires where the field mice ate them up. Had the carb rebuilt and tuned up. Got rid of the mice nests too LOL (well someone did for me ahahaha). The Interior is completely restored and the back seat was perfect, did the front seat, headliner, carpet and little things (even found a clock for it) and redone with the exception of the dash pad (put one of those carpet things on it that I found online). I have to get some pics, just got it back on Friday night. The Pinto is pretty much done now, still have to get the u-joints replaced.
