Just keep working w/ it J,you will eventually get there. At least you can enjoy racing your car now,I`m at least a yr. & a half away.I only need about $1500 more dollars to finish the mtr,but I,tires rad, driveshaft, wiring ,plumbing etc, will take a while.Plus not real sure on the trans & clutch set up,minimum $5000.

nice pic, no helmet though?! safety first! btw those slicks fit amazing under there...8" rim? what bs?

have you also tried unhooking the sway bar? might gain a tiny bit... can't tell if it's under there or not.

its an 8 inch rim, not sure on backspacing. It has a 3/8 spacer on the rear. I thought about taking off the swaybar but the suspension is already very loose

    Nice pic's!

As you mentioned earlier.. if the car is already dead hooking?.. removing the sway bar is likely not required for any additional weight transfer. Plus.. if you ever get out of shape at mid-track or the big end?.. you'll be glad you have it in place because those skinny front tires and loose shocks need all the help they can get. ;)

Excuse the dumb question here.. because it's been a very long time since I've screwed around with n2o and I'm too damned lazy to goggle it right now.. but what approximate HP gain is that 53n nitrous jet providing? Around 125?

maverick has 4.11's, in theory a 7.49 should be an 11.90 pass or so but it would probably run out of gear

Hey guys, type in Ford Maverick drag racing & look at the video of Paul Collins primer gray Mav.356w w/ edelbrock hds,4.11 8in rear,c/4 & slapper traction bars, turns 11 flat spinning. But on the same site, click on Maverick races Plymouth Superbird, when it switches look to the right & click on the video of the little silver Mav that says 9.38 @ 141mph.THIS A MAVERICK DRAG CAR,turn your volume way up if you want to hear a real camshaft,438w,c/4 w/ a 5500 stall,a lady is driving it & she does`nt say what rear is in the car.She says by the end of the day it goes 9.26 @ 142,naturally asperated car,no no2,no turbo or super charging, you don`t need it.You build a 400ci w right,& it will do everything you want it to & last along time.:thumbs2:

Yeah, same here J,I need to many other things.I`m going to stay w/ the 351w for now, plus I just bought a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel to tow with & it needs a little bit of work done to it.However,my future plans are to build a big windsor.

Just remember that there was life before strokers too. If you build a stock stroke 351 that can turn some rpm?.. it'll make decent steam. Then hit it with a 150 shot and you're golden if you can hook it.

I know of a N/A 289ci Canfield headed 65' Mustang that dips into the 10's on occasion and it's all about the combo.
