MSD 6010...this controller is sweet. Jeff, Tim and I played with it about all afternoon.
you can set any degree timing at any RPM...we have 6 timing points from 0-6100 RPMs...:yup:
Tim left early but said he had a large time...:thumbs2:
Jeff and I had a larger time. Tim bought lunch...thanks Tim...:Handshake

With my Megajolt controller I can set the timing in 500 rpm increments.

I read the directions when I got home. It says "The MSD product stores a data point for every 100 rpm of a timing curve. A timing curve ranging from 800 to 12,500 rpm requires 118 data points.
With AutoClean OFF, the 118 data points are displayed as 118 dots on the plot.
With AutoClean ON, the 118 data points are displayed using the least number."

    Enable/Disable the AutoClean plot feature:
In a plot window, select the AutoClean menu item from the EDIT menu.
The menu item AutoClean will toggle a check mark for each left mouse click.
AutoClean is enabled when the menu check mark is active.
The MSD product stores a data point for every 100 rpm of a timing curve.
A timing curve ranging from 800 to 12,500 rpm requires 118 data points.
With AutoClean OFF, the 118 data points are displayed as 118 dots on the plot.
With AutoClean ON, the 118 data points are displayed using the least number
When AutoClean is selected or when plot data is transferred with AutoClean on,
some of the dots in the plot window may be moved. This is normal.
AutoClean removes extra dots from the plot window that are less than 0.1 degree
error. During a timing curve edit, AutoClean reduces the number of dots to be
    moved.
    Example 1:
    Turn AutoClean on.
Transfer a Timing Curve from the MSD product to the plot window.
    Edit a Timing Curve.
    Turn AutoClean off.
Transfer a Timing Curve from the plot window to the MSD product.
Note: With AutoClean off, no dots are changed during the transfer to the MSD
    product.
    Example 2:
    Turn AutoClean on.
Transfer a Timing Curve from the MSD product to the plot window.
    Edit a Timing Curve.
Transfer a Timing Curve from the plot window to the MSD product.
Note: With AutoClean on, some dots are moved up to 0.1 degrees.
AutoClean removes extra dots from the plot window that are less than 0.1 degree
error. During a timing curve edit, AutoClean reduces the number of dots to be
    moved.

I'm not terrible at curving a disty.. but these programmable box's are totally freakin' awesome. I have the digi 7+ on my Chevy and its little brother, the programmable 6al-2, waiting on my shelf to go into my Comet.

I like them so much.. I'll never use anything else from this point on. Many people just don't know what they're missing with these types of boxes and if you really put miles on.. the potential fuel savings alone could easily offset the slight additional cost over the regular non-programmable box.

After seeing what these can do I was like...what would they think up next? It's unreal. Sure beats bending over a fender playing with springs and bending tabs.

Not up on these boxes! How are they programmed? What wud be advantage of replacing my DS2 w/ one of these units? My car is only used for cruise-in's, shows and short trips (few hundred miles).
Guess I need to go to the web site and do some reading.

    Jeff,

What version software are you looking at? I have the latest (I think) at v3.19 and there's noting about autoclean anywhere. IIRC, there is a newer "Win8" version out but it states "not for use with the 6010"...

Interesting... So how does it work? Lock out the distributer and let the box control timing advance? Where does it get its info for fine tuning? ... Maybe I'll just ook it up. LOL

v3.19, I think you need another box to have this feature, the 6110 has 6 point curve.

It works by magic...the box is telling it what to advance or retard to when it get to the rpm that you want it to change timing. Don't know about fine tuning. Only got to play with it for a few hours if that long.

Ok! I checked out this (6010) unit on the MSD site. Nobody mentioned it was for LS Chev's only. I did'nt recall seeing anything w/ these type features for those of us running old non-Cheby iron. Since it won't work for me; I did'nt do much in the way of research on it.
