I've been looking for some examples of painting a "standard" hood similar to a grabber (black center with a pinstripe outline). Maybe a better visual would be a Comet GT look "without" the hood scoop. I searched the photo section, but didn't find anything, yet I thought I've seen some photos in the past. If anyone knows of any examples of this, please post.

    Thanks...

Search for images of a 70 Grabber, they had standard hoods with graphics.

But weren't those the dual stripes design?

They were but it doesn't mean they have to be.

On mine the pinstripe envelopes the entire graphic. So, two thick stripes, and one pinstripe around it all. But not a flat hood.

I originally didn't like the look at all, but over the past year or so that I have owned it, it has grown on me.

It isn't even the same color as the larger stripes. (EDIT--on second closer look, I think it was the same color but the pinstripe did not fade as quickly as the larger stripes.)

I was thinking if I re-paint the yellow mav, perhaps I'd do "something" on the hood. Maybe stay within the upper/inner crease on the hood, maybe solid with a pin-stripe outline. Not sure yet, but I'd want it to tie in with a black grabber side stripe (without the "grabber" name) I'd be putting on the side.

Just bouncing some ideas out there....
