http://cfl.craigslist.org/cto/4345680300.html I saw this mav on cl i really want the car willing to take the 3.5hr drive to pick it up but i want the car to be legal and be able to register it here in florida. how do i get the title for florida thanks for the advice
that doesnt tell me the process.... I know how it would work if it had a clean title. the car has no title to transfer only a bill of sale from Alabama and of course dmv is always close when i get off work so i am relying on them to email me back.
I found this: If the vehicle also needs to be titled in the state (i.e. you’re purchasing a vehicle that is currently titled in another state), complete and submit an Application for Certification for Title With/Without Registration (Form HSMV 82040) and the Vehicle Identification Number and Odometer Verification form (Form HSMV 82042). Seems like a lot of work, here unless you have a title, you can't register the car in your name.
Same here in Florida in order to drive it on the roads you must have it registered and you need a title to do that. I trying to see if its worth the drive and time to do this for just a body.
The guy in the ad seems to know what he's talking about... In VA you can get a title for a Ala no title vehicle with a prev Ala registration and bill of sale...
According to this link, you must have a bill of sale and a title to sell a car in Alabama. http://www.dmv.org/al-alabama/buy-sell/state-regulations.php
I have been watching that Maverick also, I was interested because of the R&C setup, BUT it is not complete, that tire is just free standing in the pic, yeah at that price there are a few good parts but it also depends on IF the front end can be completed from the parts he has
Brian & I extensively researched Ala DMV code when there was a paperwork issue with my Comet I bought from him, they don't require a title for models over 35 years old... VA wouldn't register it because he didn't get a prev Ala registration...
